Release notes

On this page

What is new and what was fixed in each version of Ledger Desk, newest first. The same notes open inside the app after an update (What's new, also from About and System Info).

Server deployment required. Ledger Desk needs a VPS (cloud server) and a domain name of your own. Our team does the deployment, for a fee that depends on your plan; once it is done, you are in charge of your server. Counter computers update themselves; a server update can be booked with our team through a support ticket.

1.0.3 (October 29, 2026)

New

  • The sign-in screen links to the Ledger Desk page (How to buy), the documentation (Help) and the support ticket form (Support).
  • Help and documentation and Contact support in the user menu and the command palette; the About window links to the product page, the documentation and support.
  • What's new links to the full release notes online.
  • The installer and the app are signed by XTREME SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS & IT, so Windows shows who made them.

1.0.2 (October 27, 2026)

New

  • When the server needs a newer Ledger Desk, the sign-in screen says so first and installs the update with one button, before anybody signs in.

Fixed

  • A desktop that the server refuses as too old is told which version it needs, instead of a plain error.

1.0.1 (October 27, 2026)

Fixed

  • The tray menu: icons and texts line up, and the on/off choices show their check in the icon column.
  • Desktops keep working when the server knows newer permissions or options.
  • Downloads and exports replace a file only when they are complete.
  • Report rows open only the lists you are allowed to see, and the person filters list everybody who earned commission.
  • A quote keeps what you typed when someone else changes it on another computer.
  • Errors about files that can not be read or saved name what went wrong instead of a server error.

1.0.0 (October 27, 2026)

New

  • What's new: after an update this window shows what changed. Open it again any time from About or System Info.
  • Commission is earned only when a ticket is paid in full. Unpaid tickets wait, however long payment takes.
  • Commission order: a rule on the ticket line comes first, then the item's rule, then the technician's own rate, then the company default. Roles no longer carry a rate.
  • A commission can be a fixed amount per unit instead of a percentage of the profit, on each line and on catalog items.
  • A bounced payment after a payout is taken back from the technician's next payout and earned again once the ticket is paid.
  • Ticket reassignments are recorded on the timeline. The technician who lost the ticket is told in the bell and by email.
  • Live updates on every screen: changes made on another computer show up within seconds. A form tells you who changed the record and lets you keep your version or take theirs.
  • The Users page shows who is online right now.
  • The bell lists only unread notifications. Clicking one marks it as read.
  • Lock screen PIN: unlock with a six-digit PIN. A computer can also switch the lock screen off and stay signed in until the app closes.
  • Backup on close: when switched on in Backups, closing the app offers to save a complete backup on this computer.
  • The ticket board fills the window with wider columns. Cards and whole columns can be dragged into the order you want, and that order is kept on this computer.
  • Shipping cost on lines, counted as a cost: it lowers profit and commission and is never shown to the customer.
  • Customer ads: your own pictures and videos play on the customer screen while nobody is being served (Premium).
  • About in the user menu.
  • Tickets: the search box also finds ticket numbers. Type 123, #123 or LDK-123 to find LDK-000123.
  • Tickets: filter by technician, on the list and on the board.
  • Tickets: show the newest or the oldest first.
  • Tickets: the page opens as List or Board, the way you left it, and keeps your order (per user on each computer).
  • The Save changes button of a ticket's bill stands first and turns amber while changes wait to be saved.
  • Close to the tray: the close button can hide Ledger Desk next to the clock and keep it running. Click the icon to open it; its menu locks the screen, mutes notifications or quits. A choice of each user, in Preferences, Behavior.
  • Coming back from the tray after the lock time passed opens the lock screen; sooner, you are still signed in.
  • Desktop notifications: new notifications show as cards next to the tray while Ledger Desk is hidden or in the background.
  • Mute notifications for an hour, until tomorrow morning or until you turn them on again, from the tray icon or Preferences.
  • The tray menu has New ticket: Ledger Desk opens on Tickets with a new ticket ready to fill in.
  • Every list page has its search and filters together on one toolbar.
  • Only one Ledger Desk runs at a time. Starting it again brings the open one to the front, also out of the tray.

Fixed

  • Searching a ticket number no longer finds tickets through the computer code of an offline number, nor through the year of the number.
  • A file that is open in another program or could not be read is told as such instead of as a server error.
  • A session that ends while the app waits in the tray goes straight back to the sign-in screen.
  • The customer tablet remembers a card payment with an unclear result also after a restart, and the counter says not to charge again.
  • The ticket list and board stay quick on large shops.
  • Payouts can no longer pay the same commission twice when they are generated while a payment is recorded.
  • Voiding a bill always takes back what its commission was still worth.
  • Several rare deadlocks between payments, payouts and voids are fixed.
  • Errors from the server mark the fields that need attention and show a reference you can copy.
  • A computer copies no seat from another: a new computer is seated only by an Admin or a Developer.
  • Customer tablet: a card payment is never charged twice when the result is unclear, and pictures no longer delay a request.
  • Labels print the shop phone and keep the chosen text size.
  • Commissions, Payouts, Expenses, Payments and Quotes: the date filter follows every choice, not only the first, and the Commissions person filter lists everybody who earned commission.
  • Offline mode keeps each user's work apart on a shared computer.
  • The lock screen can be dragged like the rest of the window.
  • Notification cards next to the tray follow the theme and accent of the app.
  • Many smaller fixes to reports, backups, messaging and the customer screen.
  • Documents, labels and their previews are drawn by the new version of the PDF engine, now made of three parts: the PDF writer, font drawing and picture reading.
  • Uploaded pictures (logo, item pictures, profile pictures, ads, signatures) are read by the new picture library. CMYK JPEGs are still refused.

1.0.0-beta (October 15, 2026)

New

  • First beta of Ledger Desk: tickets with their bill, customers, catalog, quotes, expenses, commissions, payouts, reports and the customer screen.
  • Licences with three editions: Basic, Standard and Premium.
  • Plugin store, automatic updates and the user agreement at first start.
