Readings Manager2.0.0

Install the app

On this page

Readings Manager is installed with its setup program, Readings Manager Installer 2.0.0.exe. The IT staff or your supervisor will give it to you. It is not downloaded from a public web site.

Steps

  1. Double-click Readings Manager Installer 2.0.0.exe.

  2. The setup opens. Click Next on each step. The usual choices are right; you do not need to change anything.

  3. Click Install, wait until the bar is full, then click Finish. The last step takes a little longer: it prepares the app so it opens quickly.

  4. Open Readings Manager from the Start menu (or the icon on the desktop).

The first time, the app asks for the licence key. See Your licence.

Tip: The app installs for your Windows user only, so it does not need an administrator password.

Only one copy at a time

Readings Manager runs once on a computer. If you open it again while it is already open, the open window comes to the front. Nothing is lost.

Updates

You install the app only once. New versions are offered inside the app and install themselves. See Updates.

You do not need to know this for daily work, but the IT staff may ask.

If something goes wrong

What you see

What to do

A blue box: Windows protected your PC.

Ask the IT staff before you continue. When they confirm the file came from XSSIT, click More info, then Run anyway.

The setup says the app is still running.

Close Readings Manager. If it is in the tray (next to the clock), right-click its icon and choose Quit. Then try again.

You cannot find the app after installing.

Click Start and type Readings Manager.

You open the app and nothing seems to happen.

It may already be open in the tray. Look next to the clock (click the small arrow ^ if you do not see it) and click the Readings Manager icon.

Still stuck? See Troubleshooting, or open a support ticket.
